How many times do you hit the snooze button in to morning? Do you drag yourself to the coffee maker to grab your first cup of the day? Are you always just a little bit late to work? Or barely on time?
The way you start each morning will directly affect your entire day. Don’t believe me? Dedicate the next week to proving me wrong! Here are 5 ways to change your life with simple morning rituals. Add them to your mornings and the benefits will start rolling in.
Wake up to something you love. We all hate those jarring alarm clocks that jolt us awake and make us reach for the snooze button just to get them to shut up. Swap that annoying alarm for music and make it one of your favorite songs that always puts you in a good mood when you hear it.
Set your intentions. Before you even get out of bed, set your intentions for the day. Have a notepad or journal by your bedside for this very thing. Write down everything you plan to get done. What will you accomplish? What will you push yourself to do? List each intention and keep your list with you throughout the day.
Meditate. After you focus your mind on your intentions for the day, meditate and clear your mind of needless noise. It’s important to make room in your brain for the day ahead and sleep doesn’t accomplish that quite the same way that meditation does.
Get moving! Now it’s time to move. Have your yoga mat or running shoes ready and get your blood pumping. Exercising will detox your brain and wake up your mind. If five minutes of exercise is all you can do, do it!
Dress for success. Whether you work from home, a casual attire style company, are a stay at home mom, work for a large corporation or have the day off, be conscious about your wardrobe. Studies have shown that taking care of yourself and dressing professionally changes your attitude and makes you feel more empowered.
And of course you’ll feel all the better if you start your day with a healthy breakfast and plan for an equally as healthy lunch. You can’t imagine how beneficial starting your day with a routine is. Change your mornings and you’ll propel your life.
Now, my question to you is, do you already have a morning routine? How has it helped you get through each day?
This makes my heart smile 🙂 I love being excited to get out of bed and nothing excites me more than waking up to my dogs and the smell of coffee <3
I always start my day with meditation. If I didn’t I’d be frazzled by 10AM!
I wake up to Lady Gaga every morning! 🙂
Me too!
My favorite post yet! My mornings mean so much to me and this really resonates with me ????
I don’t know what I’d do if I didn’t have my morning routine. When I travel I miss it. Oven if I’m only gone for a day or two. It sets me up for a great day.
I’m the same way. I love traveling, but the only thing I don’t like is not having a routine.
I’m adding these to my morning routine! Actually I don’t really have a morning routine (except for hitting the snooze button 15 times). But now I will!
I;m going to start setting my intensions! That’s such a great idea!!
