Wouldn’t it be great if… calories didn’t exist, homes were self-cleaning, babies came with nannies, cars drove themselves, dinner made itself, and everybody loved everybody?
Gosh, really, what would that be like? Pure happiness?
How would you describe pure happiness?
Is it a place you dream of visiting, a size you hope to be, a job you hope to land, a home you hope to buy, a family you want to have, a relationship you long for?
Is your happiness within reach?
If you want something to happen in your life that hasn’t happened yet, it’s time you put it within reach.
There are no rules to happiness. And no prerequisites. We don’t have to live in a self-cleaning house to live our happiest life. And though there are no happiness set of rules, we do have to trust our inner self that is reaching for the happiness that is within our reach.
What do I mean by “happiness within reach”? It has to do with where you’ve placed your happiness. Do you place your happiness in a ten million dollar mansion you want some day or improving your health? Do you believe your happiness lies in a big boat or a greater sense of purpose? All of those are things you can work towards and have within your lifetime, but you can gain happiness by improving upon your life today. The mansion may be a ways down the road. If your happiness lies in owning that big house then you’ll be missing out on being happy today.
Your expectation tells you that you can’t be happy… until. Until you have the big house, the nice car, the perfect job or the kids you want. When you expect your happiness to only show up once you have those things you’re putting it out of your reach.
Step out of the way and allow your happiness to enter your life today.
You really do have the choice of living life to it’s fullest or not. It’s your choice whether your happiness lies in tomorrow or far off 5-10 years from now.
Being generous is a very powerful way to experience happiness and joy. Generosity does not mean giving away your last dime. Generosity is giving of your time, talents and money. A smile is generous. A compliment is generous. An encouraging word is generous. A random gift to someone in need is generous. Cooking a meal for a sick friend is generous. Making a phone call just to talk is generous. There are hundreds of ways to be generous and generosity builds positivity.
The best way for you to create happiness in your life is by being positive and generous every day. Don’t put your happiness out of reach. Take hold of the happiness that is right in front of you.
