Can you remember a time when someone praised you for a job well done? Do you remember how that made you feel? You felt on top of the world didn’t you?
No matter how thankful we are to have certain people in our lives we sometimes forget to show them just how important they are to us.
From your sales associates to your kids, everyone needs to feel appreciated.
Sometimes we forget the people who are playing the smaller roles in our lives. For instance, a store owner who has 20 employees may miss valuable opportunities to show their staff how much they depend on them and treasure them.
Appreciation for everyone in your life starts with appreciation for everyTHING in your life (love, health, a roof over your head, etc.).
“Make it a habit to tell people thank you. To express your appreciation, sincerely and without the expectation of anything in return. Truly appreciate those around you, and you’ll soon find many others around you. Truly appreciate life, and you’ll find that you have more of it.” Ralph Marston
Everyone around you who gives of themselves to you needs to know that you see them. They need to feel like their hard work is valued. Without acknowledging their service to you or their love for you, you’re robbing them of the joy of being appreciated.
People light up over feeling valued. Wonder much if the people in your life need to feel appreciated? Show them you appreciate them and you’ll instantly see the positive benefits.
Your employees will work with a pep in their step, your spouse will be more willing to lend a helping hand, the kids will be oddly eager to contribute more of themselves to the family chores. When you show everyone around you that they matter to you, you’ll reap more benefits than you can imagine (and so will they).
Love this! It’s the same as writing cards. We don’t do it enough! When’s the last time you got a handwritten card in the mail?
I try hard to remember to tell people how thankful I am for them.
Words of affirmation is my love language. Someone telling me that they appreciate me makes ALL the difference!
I love how you saw that sometimes we forget about the people who play small roles in our lives. We sure do! And sometimes people forget the small roles we play in their lives. Appreciation is so important!

Every month I do something special to show my employees how much I appreciate them!!! Last month I brought in people to do mani-pedis. This month I’m having a lunch catered.
I mostly think that I’m underappreciated! 😉 But if I don’t show appreciation I can’t expect others to. I’m going to start!
SO true! My co-workers and I love knowing how much we’re appreciated by our bosses.
