Are you striving for success, but have more stress in your life than you’ve ever had? Are you working twice as hard and twice as many hours as you should be? Do you feel like you aren’t gaining any ground towards reaching your success goals? Does success feel more and more like a hardship than a dream?
Instead of being constantly stressed out you should be over the moon excited about life!
Have people accomplished what they set out to while under stress? Of course. But what price did they pay? What do their relationships look like? What does their health look like? Are they happy now that they’ve reached their goals?
Instead of being completely overwhelmed by stress you should be enjoying every step of your successful journey. You should have a sense of peace because you’re following your dreams.
We’ve talked before about having your own definition of success and that’s the first step in turning your stressed out self into a well-rested, happy individual who is conquering their definition of the word.
Expect your definition of success to change over time. Once you’re faced with something like mounting stress it wakes you up to what’s really needed in order to reach “ultimate success”. If you decide that life isn’t all it’s cracked up to be then your success definition will likely change. That’s only natural, and admirable. An unhappy journey will likely lead you to unhappy results. You want the joyous journey.
Now… what would make you feel successful?
What do you want to do with your gifts?
How do you want to honor people?
What kind of legacy do you want to leave?
Those questions, if answered with honesty, will lead you away from stress and towards a fulfilling journey to success.

Success is worth putting the work in, but being stressed and unhappy is another thing. I’d rather be a little less successful and a whole lot happier!
For me the stress comes and goes. When it’s bad it’s real bad. When it’s manageable it kind of seems worth it. Then it gets bad again…
That’s what I want to be… over the moon excited about life. But it feels like you have to go through years of stress to get there :/
My definition of success has definitely changed over time. I actually used to like my high stress life… Really! Then as I entered my 30s it wasn’t as fun anymore and I didn’t feel successful anymore when the stress started to get to me.
What would make me feel successful? Having a job I don’t hate.
I think what I want to do with my gifts has a lot to do with what success looks like to me.
I’ve felt stressed and successful at the same time. But that’s when I thought being stressed meant you were successful lol. Now I know better 😉
