Have you ever wondered what makes happy people so happy? Is it their jobs? Their outlook on life? Their marriages? What is it that sets them apart from sad happy seeking souls looking for their piece of the happy pie?
Chances are all the happy people you know have some of the following on their side. And maybe you’ll realize that you have some of these on your side as well.
Those who have happy neighbors are happier for it.
Each person may have a genetic set point of happiness to begin with.
Having a strong group of friends and family may increase your lifespan.
Having several friends (10 or more) that you see regularly has a big impact on your happiness.
Those who spend a portion of each day with people they love have less stress and anxiety.
People are their happiest on weekends, especially those who spend them socializing.
People who live close to their friends have increased happiness. Likely because they see each other more often.
People who spend half of the day with family and friends are 12 times more likely to be happy (joyful even!).
The happier your friends are the happier you’ll be.
The happiest people are those who spend 6 or more hours a day socializing.
Your happiness is directly linked to your behaviors and life circumstances.
About 40% of your happiness is up to you.
How should all of this make you feel? Happy! A large part of your happiness is in your hands. With close relationships and positive social interactions you can improve the way you feel. You don’t have to be a victim of outside circumstances. They have little to do with your potential for a happy, joyful life.
So, tell me. What makes you happy?
