“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do, so throw off the bowlines, sail away from safe harbor, catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” Mark Twain
It’s amazing how far away a goal or dream can seem when you’re in the moment and contemplating if you want to go for it. The reality is, what are you going to do instead? Let the time pass without taking action?
People are in such a hurry to accomplish things that sometimes they don’t try at all because of the overwhelming reality that it’ll take time, and maybe “too much” time. What people don’t always think about (or they forget) is that it’s so much more effective and enjoyable to start working towards what you want than to sit around contemplating and doubting yourself.
What is it that you’re putting off starting because it will take a long time to accomplish?
Is it starting a company?
Is it losing weight?
How about paying off debt?
Or maybe actively searching for a significant other?
Start now! Time will pass anyway.
Challenge yourself to make your life of 6 months from now, unrecognizably better than the one you’re living today!
“Don’t let the fear of the time it will take to accomplish something stand in the way of your doing it. The time will pass anyway; we might just as well put that passing time to the best possible use.” Earl Nightingale
