Did you know that we are all born with gifts, you know, abilities?
Each of us has the ability to be a teacher, to be hospitable, to be a giving person and to show mercy to others.
As we grow and learn, we begin to discover our gifts and which ones have great strength. A variety of gifts is needed in order for the world to run correctly because diversity is extremely important.
I am very aware that some people are squashed down and put down and bullied and may never find the gift they are meant to use on this earth. That is a tragedy and one that causes us all to suffer. And for that, I am so sorry.
I am speaking more here to the person that knows their gift or thinks they know their gift. I am also speaking to the person that has always wanted to use their gift but could not find the time or place.
Rise up friend. Unwrap your gifts and use them to make your world and this world a better place. We are all here on this earth for this time in history. Your gift is important. No one is just like you and no one is just like me. We are all unique.
Some of you are thinking, “I can’t teach.” Yes you can. You teach every day by example whether you are a good example or a poor example. Please be a good one!
Others are thinking, I have nothing to give. Yes you do! You have wisdom and the ability to get up and go help the world. Giving is not always about money. It’s about giving time and energy and love. You have that. Rise up.
And others still are thinking, “I am one of the least compassionate people in the world.” Change that. Start with a stranger. Show them compassion in some way. Pick up the trash can for your neighbor. Wave and smile at those you see every day. Compassion does not have to be some big elaborate doing. It is the smallest things in life that make the biggest differences.
We all see and hear of people changing the world. That’s important, but it takes people like you and me, in our communities, in our cities, making small changes to impact our world. Look locally. Rise up, friend. We all need you.
